In the fast-paced world of short-form content, speed is everything. We sat down with a tech and post-production specialist, Hassanien Moawad, who creates high-impact reviews and Adobe tutorials for his Instagram using FireCut for Premiere Pro.
FireCut: To kick things off, tell us about the type of content you’re creating.
Hassanien: I primarily focus on short-form content for Instagram and TikTok. My videos usually revolve around tech reviews and sharing tips and tricks for Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
FireCut: Before you found us, what was the "bottleneck" in your Premiere Pro workflow?
Hassanien: Without a doubt, it was manually removing silences and creating Arabic captions. Those two tasks used to eat up the majority of my post-production time.
FireCut: How did you first encounter FireCut, and when did you realize it was a game-changer?
Hassanien: I actually discovered it through a YouTube video. I decided to test it out on a project I was currently working on, and I was blown away—it made my process 10 times faster immediately. That was the moment I knew I had to integrate it into my daily workflow.
FireCut: Which features do you find yourself clicking on the most?
Hassanien: I live in the Silence Remover and the Captions tool, specifically for Arabic.
FireCut: Walk us through a typical edit. Where does FireCut "enter the room"?
Hassanien:
- The Rough Cut: As soon as I finish syncing my cameras, I open the FireCut plugin to instantly strip out all the pauses and silences.
- The Creative Edit: Once the fluff is gone, I start the actual editing. I frequently use the Add Zoom feature here—it’s incredibly handy for keeping short-form viewers engaged and saves a massive amount of manual keyframing.
- The Final Polish: Once the edit is done, I let FireCut work its magic by adding the Arabic captions.
FireCut: How much time is this actually saving you in the chair?
Hassanien: On average, this entire automated process saves me about 3 to 5 hours per project.
FireCut: Arabic can be a tricky language for AI. How has the accuracy been for you?
Hassanien: It’s very smart and accurate. I’ve been impressed with how it handles different languages within the video; it’s consistently reliable.
FireCut: If you could wave a magic wand and add one feature to FireCut tomorrow, what would it be?
Hassanien: I’d love the option to convert captions into native Premiere Pro text layers instead of PNGs for even more flexibility. Also, adding smart masking features and Arabic-oriented text animation presets would be a dream for editors in this region!
FireCut: What’s your one piece of advice for creators who are on the fence about trying the plugin?
Hassanien: You must use it. It is innovative and smart, and the amount of time it saves in your workflow is irreplaceable.
