Are you new to TikTok and wondering how you can land on that “For You” page? Going viral isn’t easy! Your video has to be attractive and unique, and for this you need to edit it right. TikTok has an inbuilt editor which has all the basic editing features. Lets look at how to edit TikTok videos:

Step 1: Launch the TikTok app and click on the plus (+) button on the bottom of the screen.

Step 2: Now you can either record a video by pressing the round button in the middle or select a prerecorded video by selecting one clicking the button on the bottom right.

Step 3:

Once your video is ready, you can either use “AutoCut” option at the bottom which automatically edits your video and gives you a couple of templates, or you can use the manual editing option on the right side to make your own edits.

Step 4: Click on the Scissors icon for trimming or cutting any parts by dragging the video. You can even split it in parts.

Step 5: Click on the Sound icon to add any background music to the video.

Step 6: You can even add text by clicking on the Text icon. You can choose the color and font as you like.

Step 7: Click on the Effects icon to add effects to your videos. You can choose from a wide range. It's always a good idea to add the trending ones. Filters work the same way.

Step 8: To add captions just click on the Captions icon. After the captions are generated, you'll be taken to an editing screen. From there, you can click directly on the captions to edit the text or change their font and colors, just like you would with the text section.
